I No Understand - The Little Toe

Above: Why are you still there??
I've always wondered why we still possess five toes instead of four, like a bird. Perhaps we have evolved in such a way that God had invested so much in human-brainpower that he forgot about a bird's; or a bird's feet that he forgot about our feet. To make you understand what I'm trying to make you understand...about what I think I understand, our little toe is useless.

Yes, the little toe, the fifth metatarsal and smallest toe on our feet. It is the one toe that always gets in the way. Slamming itself into corners of walls, doors and anything slammable you can think of. Everybody had been there, and everybody can remember the agony and pain associated with accidentally hitting your little toe on something. Apart from being a pain in the ass, the little toe also acts as magnet for deformities, especially associated with wearing shoes (which 90% of civilized people have on their feet), of which you can see it all here.

Being such a burden, what benefits you may ask, does the little toe carry?

It doesn't act as balance, as I believe I can very well balance myself if my little toe is amputated, so will you. It is also lazy, not being able to move by itself without moving your four other toes, even so only moving a miserable few degrees in a horizontal plane. It doesn't help keep your nostrils clean, which is taken cared of by your pinkie, or more formally known as your little finger. In short, it doesn't do much benefit other than getting hurt and diseased, much like the appendix lying in some of your abdomens today, including mine.

So why is it still present? My theory is that the little toe is nothing more than a remnant of our evolutionary past. To put simply, a vestigial organ. Very much like our appendix, which was once used to aid in the digestion of cellulose but today just swells up spontaneously, or otherwise, our coccyx (assbone) which brings much pain to our behinds when a friend plays the pull the chair prank on you or even sometimes when you do situps on the ground. Maybe sometime long ago our little toe was used to dig out grubs from a rotten log, to grasp onto branches of trees, to make us hang upside down and sleep. All we know is, it doesn't serve it's previous function anymore.

So where do we go now? How do we deal with our little toe? For me, I would let God and nature act. Maybe someday, thousands of generations later, the little toe will shrink in size, which I think it has for mine, but not for a few of my friends. Maybe, just maybe, future humans will have four toes and birds can speak and the little toe will be embedded somewhere in our feet, much like a whale's vestigial hind legs, a reminder for us of its past. We never know.

However, if your little toe is too big and unbearable, you can either head down to the clinic or hospital to get them amputated or save costs and do a little DIY at home. DO NOT forget painkillers and ice!!

I No Understand - Inappropriate Naming

Have not updated me blog for awhile due to a very hectic schedule. Another week has passed and another thing that I no understand. This has been going on for awhile after we were hit by an influx of japanese anime and stuff and is mostly a Chinese Malaysian problem. People start naming themselves after anime characters and giving themselves stupid names. I've met people who name themselves Shinji, Miko, Cross...even someone with the name Bangkai (I do not know what Bangkai means in Jap but in Malay it actually means corpse...HAHA!), like why the hell are these people giving themselves improper and stupid names?

Ask these people, "do you know Japanese?" They don't, so why are you naming yourselves with Japanese names. Not only japanese names, many Malaysians are also obsessed with Taiwanese cultures and one thing that the Taiwanese are bad at are English names. Seriously...names like JoJo and NoNo come to mind. What next? Kuku? I found out that many people give themselves such names because they think its adooorable. No it's not adorable, it's hateful.

So if you are someone who has a Japanese name who is not Japanese and do not speak their language or does not know anything about Japanese culture, history and such...you might be cursing me. You might be thinking why do I have to care about other people's businesses. Well, I just don't want you to embarrass the people around you and embarrass yourself and make people hate you. Another thing you should think of, imagine when you have kids in the future. Your kids go to school and someone asks your child, "What's your mum/dad's name?" and your kid says, "Cross/Shinji" or some shit like that....how embarrassing would that be? If you are infected with this disease, please...stop stupifying yourselves, go back, rethink and rename yourselves.

I No Understand - The Purpose of Sunglasses

This will be my first "I No Understand" post where I discuss topics mostly in daily habits that I simply do not understand. The hot weather in the Klang Valley today made me realise something...I realised recently that there is a new epidemic that was failed to be noticed by the media or by the health department. People that are infected with this epidemic are most likely displaying symptoms such as walking aimlessly in the mall and “I think I’m so cool” attitude and they can mostly be found not in hospitals but at nightclubs. It’s called the Sunglasses Syndrome.
RayBan Aviators: "I no understood what is my purpose leh?"
Lets get serious, I’ve been noticing a “trend” lately that people tend to like to wear sunglasses in places that you do not really need them. Sunglasses, obviously are glasses that are to be worn on sunny days where they protect your eyesight and filter out harmful rays and allows you to see better on a hot sunny day. But I noticed people wearing sunglasses in shopping malls and other buildings where the sunlight is blocked by a roof. I’ve even seen some people wearing sunglasses at nightclubs and at my gym(yes, my gymnasium) someone works out wearing sunglasses.

Why are these people wearing sunglasses in places where you do not need them? The only inference I can make is that think they just look so cool in sunglasses. C’mon, they are actually making themselves look like fools, arses and douchebags. I can’t help but feel annoyed and irritated at this stupid behaviour of theirs. Seriously, I do wear sunglasses but only if the sun is really killing my eyes and not in dark places where I can’t even see with the glasses on (e.g nightclubs). The only way where you can really restore justice is to just take off their sunglasses, give them a tight slap and smash and step on their sunglasses in front of them. Sheesh!

These people are insulting to us wearers of sunglasses. If you have any friends that practise this stupid behaviour please do take the effort to educate them on the proper function and the point of wearing sunglasses. In the mean time, if you have any views on this very serious epidemic, please do feel free to share your views here. =)
